Annual Reports
Dear NRVC members,
friends, and benefactors,
This past year can be summed up perfectly in the words of an African proverb: If you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together. Together with our members, the NRVC board, the National Office, our key partners, and our collaborators, the NRVC made great strides in strengthening the leadership, communication, and finances of the organization, as well as providing the exceptional programming, publications, and resources that are the hallmark of the National Religious Vocation Conference. Here is a brief outline of much of what received our focused attention in 2019:
• Board restructuring & succession planning
• Design and adoption of the Team Leadership Model
for the National Office
• Implementation of sustainable financial structures,
including a standing Development Committee
• Design and launch of the 2020 Study research
• Expanded use of virtual technology for meetings and
workshops, including participating in and co-hosting
several webinars
• Improved member communication with the Catalyst blog
• Continued outreach and engagement, including participation
at World Youth Day in Panama and NCYC.
As we move into our 32nd year, I want to thank all of you—our members, friends, and benefactors—for allowing us to journey with you. We have gone far together. Through your membership and generous support, we are confident that together we can continue the mission of the NRVC to set the world ablaze with the fire of God’s love and see the full flourishing of religious life.
Peace,
Sister Kristin Matthes, SNDdeN
NRVC Board Chair
