National Catholic Sisters Week, March 8-14, 2017

Join the celebration to honor women religious.

National Catholic Sisters Week (NCSW) invites all to celebrate women religious from March 8-14.

NCSW is an annual celebration that began in 2014 to honor women religious with a series of events that instruct, enlighten, and bring greater focus on the lives of these incredible women. It’s a chance to recognize all that they do, with the hope that as more young women learn about women religious, more will choose to follow their example.

Visit the NCSW website, nationalcatholicsistersweek.org, to learn about the organization, find an event near you and join in honoring women religious, or plan an event of your own and spread the word.

Of past NCSW events, Co-executive Director Sister Mary Soher, O.P. says, “Among the sisters there was such a claiming of sisterhood. There really is this sense that we are all sisters working in the mission of Christ. The college students who got involved were delightful. They found such peer support among other young women who also have this hunger to learn more about sisters.”

The NCSW organization is based in St. Paul, Minnesota and can be reached at contact@nationalcatholicsistersweek.org or 651-690-6925.

The group is sponsored by SisterStory, the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, and St. Catherine University.

In 2017, NRVC is collaborating with the Religious Formation Conference, Giving Voice, the Center for the Study of Consecrated Life and Communicators for Women Religious to offer a publicity blitz and glitz on March 7 to kickoff NCSW. This event is made possible through NCSW mini-grant program. It will feature a communal prayer service of thanksgiving, with posters to publicize NCSW for every participant, along with polo shirt door prizes.
