"Hope" a common thread for speakers at NRVC virtual Convocation

Topics range from reconciliation to immigrant concerns

The NRVC is pleased to announce the speakers who will be part of the virtual Convocation October 28-31. Keynoters who will examine dimensions of religious life and vocations through a lens of hope will be: religious studies professor Father Linh Hoang, O.F.M.; executive director of Precious Blood Ministry of Reconciliation Father David Kelly, C.PP.S.; and associate professor and director of the Sankofa Institute for African American Pastoral Leadership Sister Addie Lorraine Walker, S.S.N.D.

Sister Charlene Herinckx, S.S.M.O. to be director of membership

The NRVC is pleased to announce that Sister Charlene Herinckx, S.S.M.O. will join the NRVC leadership team as director of membership on January 11, 2021. Ms. Marge Argyelan, who currently holds that position, will become director of database administration. It's a homecoming for Sister Charlene, as she was the NRVC coordinator of programs and projects from 1999 to 2005 and worked in vocation ministry in varied capacities over the years. She has also served in education and leadership, most recently as superior general from 2010-2020 for the Sisters of Saint Mary of Oregon. “I am honored, excited, and feel privileged to serve at NRVC once again,” Sister Charlene told NRVC.

NRVC honors Notre Dame Vision, a program for teens

At its August meeting, the NRVC Board selected Notre Dame Vision, a program of the McGrath Institute for Church Life at the University of Notre Dame, for the Mustard Seed Award. The award will be officially bestowed during the NRVC virtual Convocation October 28-31. Each year Vision conferences at the University of Notre Dame offer high school students a theologically rich experience of keynote speakers with the mentorship of college students. From large group sessions to small faith-sharing sessions comprised of peers, Notre Dame Vision provides the space and the community to ask big questions about God and faith. NRVC commends this program of high positive impact.
