Throughout the year, Vocation Ministers are multitasking and busier than ever promoting vocations in a myriad of settings. Advent can be the ideal time to slow down for much needed self-care and more intensive prayer. NRVC is offering vocation ministers four days in the desert to focus on transformation and the journey of faith. To provide adequate sacred space, this program is limited to 18 participants.
This program will be held at the Redemptorist Renewal Center in Tucson, AZ. Situated in the foothills of the Tucson Mountains and the beautiful Sonoran Desert, it is a site that appeals to the nature lover and gently challenges the more urban personality. Overnight accommodations include private rooms and bath, as well as all meals. The retreat center is approximately 20 minutes by shuttle from the Tucson airport. For more information, visit their website at: http://www.desertrenewal.org/index.html Please do not call the Redemptorist Renewal Center for reservations.
December 10-13, 2013
Vocation ministry has the potential to bring us to greater conversion, which ultimately leads us to community. This movement of transformation beckons us to believe and accept our identity as the beloved of God. For most of us, conversion is not one, brief, blinding moment that changes our life forever, but rather a slow, maturing process that takes place over time as we learn a new language found in the whisper and wisdom of our God - the language of the soul. We will reflect on how vocation ministry, like the life of faith, is a sojourn of the soul. During these days of reflection, this rest stop for our soul, we will explore stories of our faith and see how they reconnect us to the stories of our lives and ministry.|
This program begins at 5:30 PM on Tuesday and ends at 10:00 AM on Friday.
