Congregation of Notre Dame five-year strategic plan for vocations

Congregation of Notre Dame five-year strategic plan for vocations

As with most communities, it took time to create this strategic plan for the English speaking North American provinces of the Congregation of Notre Dame. In 1996, the worldwide congregation of CNDs chose vocations as one of their “directions” during a general chapter. The provinces in Japan, Cameroon and Central America had new members coming in, but the North American provinces knew they needed to focus on vocations. They began in 1997 by forming two committees, one to form a Web site and one to design new promotion materials.

By 2000, these committees were beginning to think on a much larger scale. They decided to evaluate what they had done so far and to create a strategic plan for the next five years. The North American provinces divided into French-speaking and English-speaking groups to design separate plans consistent with their distinct realities. The following plan is the fruit of the work of the English-speaking provinces. Although omitted here for the sake of brevity, the original plan specified a time frame and a person responsible for each activity.
